La Source

La Source

A reef right with a secondary left, best on a rising high tide. Rarely crowded, and rock the whole way.

La Source is a reef right with a secondary left, and the one break here that can work at any time of year. That is unusual on a coast whose season runs October to March.

It is at its best on a rising high tide, on a northwest swell with an offshore from the northeast. January gives clean conditions 60% of the time, blown out 25%, and too small 15%. One guide puts the best tide at mid rather than high; this sheet keeps high, which is the more specific reading of the two.

Rarely crowded, and rock the whole way in.

A month in figures

In January, the month the forecast guides single out for this coast:

  • 60%Clean and surfable
  • 25%Blown out
  • 15%Too small

Shares of the month, from the published forecast statistics. The model reads a grid, so neighbouring breaks share a figure: this describes a stretch of coast, not this wave on its own. The other eleven months are not published.
